Nestled in the beautiful Sammamish River Valley just 30 minutes northeast of Seattle, Woodinville Wine Country is home to over 100 wineries and tasting rooms representing every appellation in Washington.
This picturesque setting is where the fruit of Eastern Washington meets the vintners, chefs and flavors of the Pacific Northwest. It’s a delicious crossroads of winemaking, microbrewing, fine dining, and the people who pour their heart and soul into them.
From the historic and beautiful grounds of Chateau Ste. Michelle to the quaint boutique wineries where you are likely to have the winemaker themselves pour you a glass of his or her finest blend, a wonderful variety of wine tasting experiences awaits you.
Nearly all of the Woodinville wineries grow their grapes in the warm, arid climate of Eastern Washington’s Columbia Valley where vineyards boast sandy, gravelly soils providing an ideal medium to plant vines. Protected from Seattle’s marine climate by the Cascade Mountains, Columbia Valley vineyard temperatures consistently hover in the mid-80’s during the summer. Come fall, warm days and cool nights protect the grapes natural acidity and ripen the fruit to perfection.
The winemakers of Woodinville Wine Country invite you to visit our friendly tasting rooms and taste our celebrated wines. Explore the Hollywood District, Warehouse District, West Valley District and Downtown District and experience and enjoy!
While our abundance of wineries gets all the attention, Woodinville is fertile ground for a rich variety of destinations and activities. Take a ride on one of the best bike trails in the state, see what’s in season at a local farm, peruse one of finest nurseries in the Northwest, or take off on a hot-air balloon ride. Nothing pairs better with wine than a day full of unique, outdoor experiences
At Forgeron, we are driven by what’s happening in the vineyards and work to find the best sites for each of our wines; then, working in small-lots, we put our skills to work with restraint, to respect the fruit’s identity through winemaking. Because great winemaking begins in the vineyard, we partner with the best, sustainable-focused growers and sites in the AVA’s of Eastern Washington’s vast Columbia Valley.
Forgeron, the French word for “Blacksmith,” offers tasting and tours of our full production winery (est. 2001) in downtown Walla Walla where Blacksmiths once skillfully and by hand, crafted iron into art. Our Woodinville Tasting Room opened in 2013 to offer our members and friends more opportunities to enjoy Forgeron wines closer to Seattle.
Open to the public Thursday – Monday, we recommend elevating your tasting by booking an Experience.
